How many calories you get today
Foodia starts from your physical profile and your goal to suggest daily targets for calories, macronutrients and water. They're a starting point, not a verdict: change them whenever you like.

Where your number comes from
The calculation uses what you put in your profile: sex, age, weight, height, how active you are, the sports you play, and whether you want to lose, maintain or gain weight. Out of that come the day's calories and their split across protein, carbs and fat, plus a water target.
Three steps and your goals are set
They're set up when you create your account, and can be redone whenever something changes.
- 1
Fill in your profile
Sex, age, weight, height, how much you move and which sports you play. None of it leaves your account.
- 2
Pick your goal
Lose, maintain or gain weight. That's what tips the calculation one way or the other.
- 3
Adjust if it doesn't fit
The targets are proposed, not imposed. If your nutritionist gave you different figures, type those in and they take over.
What you see each day
The home screen shows what you've had against what you set out to have, and every meal you log adds to it. No arithmetic needed: the progress updates on its own.
- Calories consumed and calories left.
- Protein, carbs and fat, each against its target.
- The day's water, which you can log from the widget.
- The history of previous days, so you see the trend rather than one isolated day.
What these figures aren't
A target worked out from formulas is a reasonable approximation for most people, not a clinical instruction. Foodia is not a medical device and doesn't replace a health professional.
- If you have a condition that needs professional supervision, check before following these targets.
- You can share your log with your nutritionist, who is the one able to adjust the figures with proper judgement.
- If you have a history of disordered eating, talk to a professional before keeping a daily calorie log.
Questions about daily goals
Can I set my own figures?
Yes. The targets Foodia calculates are editable one by one: calories, each macronutrient and water. If your nutritionist gave you different ones, type those in and they're what counts.
Do they recalculate as I lose weight?
The calculation comes from your profile data, so once you update your weight you can generate them again with the new figures. Nothing changes behind your back.
What happens if I go over one day?
Nothing. Foodia logs what you ate and moves on; it doesn't lock anything or tell you off. What matters is the trend across days, not one day on its own.
Can I change my goal later on?
Yes. The goal —lose, maintain or gain weight— is changed from your profile, and you can regenerate the targets from there. Nothing you've already logged is touched.
