One glass, one tap
Water is the first thing people stop logging, because it happens so many times a day. So in Foodia you log it from the widget, without unlocking the app or hunting for anything.

The log that gets abandoned first
Logging a meal happens three times a day; water happens eight or ten. If each one means unlocking the phone, opening the app and finding the button, it's gone within a week. Foodia fixes that by moving the button out: it lives on the widget, next to the rest of your day.
How you log it
From wherever you happen to be: the app, the home screen or the lock screen.
- 1
Add the widget
Foodia's widget carries the day's water with a button to add to it. It goes on the home screen, the lock screen and StandBy.
- 2
Add what you drink
One tap per glass. No opening the app, nothing to confirm.
- 3
See it in your day
The total runs against your daily target, alongside calories and macros. And it stays in your history, like everything else.
Your water target comes with the rest
When Foodia works out your daily targets from your profile, water is part of the same bundle as calories and macronutrients. And it adjusts the same way: if your nutritionist asked for a different amount, you change it.
- A daily target worked out from your profile, editable at any time.
- One-tap logging from the widget, without opening the app.
- Written to the Health app, if you turn syncing on.
- Kept in your daily history alongside the rest of your log.
Worth knowing
Water is the one thing in Foodia that doesn't use up an analysis: it never goes near the model, it's a number you add yourself. Which is why it works even with no connection.
- Doesn't count towards the daily analysis cap, on trial or subscription.
- Works offline: the figure lives on the phone and syncs afterwards.
- The widget updates when you open Foodia, so it can lag a little behind.
Questions about water tracking
Can I change the glass size?
The widget offers quick amounts to add in one go, and from the app you can log the exact amount you drank if none of them fits.
Does coffee or tea count?
Foodia logs whatever you tell it to log: if you reckon that cup counts, add it. The app doesn't decide which liquids qualify.
Won't I forget glasses if I don't open the app?
That's precisely why the button sits on the widget: the logging happens where you're already looking, without going into anything.
Can I correct it if I added too much?
Yes. From the app you can adjust the day's total or remove an entry you added by mistake.
